Morpeth Secondary School and Sixth Form were music education matters have produced a number of students who have gone on to have extremely successful careers in the music industry, here are just a few!

Morpeth School Music Department Leon Rolle went to Morpeth School
Leon Rolle (AKA DJ Locksmith) - Rudimental

Rudimental are an English electronic music quartet who are signed to Asylum Records and independent label Black Butter. The quartet consists of songwriters and producers Piers Agget, Kesi Dryden, Amir Amor (Amir Izadkhah) and DJ Locksmith (Leon Rolle). The group rose to prominence in 2012 when their single “Feel the Love”, featuring singer John Newman, topped the UK Singles Chart, and for which they were also nominated for a BRIT Award in 2013

Tristan Hackney – Recording Engineer

Tristan has produced. engineered and recorded some of the UK’s finest and most successful Bands and Musicians including: Noel Gallagher, U2, Tinchy Stryder, Katy Tunstall, Clare Maguire, Incognito, Paul Weller

Max Taylor – Session Bass Player

Max Taylor is an artist and session bass player who has worked and toured with acts such as– Mika, Groove Armada, Roots Manuva, Tom Robinson

Morpeth School Music Department Mitchell Charles went to Morpeth School
Mitchell Charles aka DJ Charlesy – Tinie Tempah 

After watching his older brother DJ throughout his childhood, DJ Charlesy’s insatiable passion for music developed into a dedicated interest in the technical side of the industry and he absorbed everything he learned in order to make it his own. The club nights he set up attracted an overwhelming amount of attention and the events’ success drove him to seek out an even bigger challenge. From there, he began to define his own style and was able to build on an already impressive reputation, which opened doors to an exciting and brand new scene

Morpeth School Music Department Alumni Harriet Syndombercome went to Morpeth School
Harriet Syndombercome Court – Vocalist

Harriet Syndercombe Court  graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Brigitte Beraha, Malcolm Edmonstone and Lynda Richardson. She has had the pleasure of backing singing for Josh Groban and Rod Stewart at prestigious venues such as The Hammersmith Apollo, Hampton Court Palace and Twickenham Stadium.

Kenny Mukendi - Musician

Kenny has gone onto study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study BA (Hons) Performance & Creative Enterprise. As well as an exciting academic path Kenny has been busy making appearances in Grammy Winning Music Videos, including Sam Smith and Fatboy Slim, as well as commercials for New Balance, Adidas and KFC and various TV shows. He’s also involved in backing vocals for live shows including X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent!
