Motorhead, Bowie and Parton on Ukulele..

Morpeth School Ukulele Orchestra played their first gig of the year yesterday in the School Theatre. The Ukulele Orchestra, led by Mr Keil is made of Morpeth staff and students and is led by Mr Keil and reheareses every Tuesday lunchtime. Yesterdays repertoire included songs by Motorhead, Dolly Parton and David Bowie.

A great start and an even better finish!

Once again it has been a busy first half of the year for Morpeth Music Department, with numerous performances, visitors and trips. Highlights so far began in September with the start of our brand new Ukulele Club run by Mr Keil. As well as playing Ukulele as its main focus the club has a strong emphasis on the importance of community being open to both staff and students of all abilities. They are looking to perform their first concert very soon!! Then in October we took on the mammoth task of getting the whole of year 7 to a showing of the BBCs Ten Pieces at the Hackney Picture House.
