First ever Rapper to attend the Guildhall visits Morpeth to lead a number of workshops. Over 3 sessions Jack Derbyshire aka "Jacaboski" helped run GCSE workshops on composition The Guildhall has trained some of the finest classical musicians of the past century. But now the prestigious Guildhall School of Music has taken on its first ever rapping student to study alongside violinists, cellists and harpists. Jack who is two weeks into his Masters degree at the central London school and will study alongside some of the most promising musicians in the country.
The 25-year-old from London said Guildhall "would open doors" for him as a rapper and insisted he would not lose "a sense of who I am or where I'm from".
However, he recalled his "ridiculous" audition to gain entry to the school, where he was lined up against classicial musicians.
