Carl Stanbridge

Guitar and Bass Teacher

Teaching Days: Tuesday, Thursday

For over 20 years Carl has had a busy and diverse career as a freelance musician, working throughout the UK and Europe. After graduating from London College of Music / Basstech with a degree in music he then spent his student loan on the biggest bass rig he could fit into a Ford Fiesta. He soon found himself busy playing blues, funk, soul and gospel music most nights of the week, working alongside drummers Evan Jenkins, Troy Miller, Mel Gaynor and guitarist Matt Schofield.

In 1999 he was asked by Music director Craig Mcleish to join the Young Voices arena tours house band - something he feels very blessed to be a part of. Young Voices has grown over the years from 3 shows to 22 and still counting! Artists on the tour have included Beverley Knight, Alexandra Burke, Lemar, Jocelyn Brown and Katie Melua.

Over the years Carl has gigged and toured with various artists, including Gloria Gaynor, Mavis Staples, Jason Donovan, Ian Siegal, Gareth Gates and for a 5 year period played regularly on the West End show Blood Brothers.

Alongside his busy gigging schedule Carl has had the privilege of working in numerous recording studios. He has recorded with the likes of Paul Kelly, Marti Pellow, Rebecca Ferguson, Matt Schofield and Noel Robinson.
